Atomic Drag, the one-man surf rock project, released this energetic two-track gem, Atomic Beach Party b/w Drag or Astro-Drag, back in 2023.

“Atomic Beach Party” cranks up the volume right from the start, living up to its name. This is surf rock with a driving backbeat on drums and bass. The guitar’s resonant tones carve a path into your consciousness with a definitive surf sound, before cutting loose with more rock-oriented lines, adding distortion for good measure, and finally returning to the core melody.

“Drag or Astro-Drag” is an obvious tribute to Man or Astro-man?—but you probably guessed that already. This track launches into a distinctly different sound: sci-fi instrumental rock, complete with a countdown blast. It’s the perfect send-off and homage to that iconic band—killer and rocking nonstop!
