My love for Surf Music, culture, and art started in the early 1990s with The Ventures and took off from there. At some point, I lost interest and started discovering other music to cover in my reviews. In August 2024, I started listening to the band Hola Ghost, which had some cool surf elements. From that point, my interest was reborn, and I sought out some old favorites and discovered some new ones.
Culture and art are interlinked like any genre, but I always found the 60s art most interesting, with Rat Fink, the Monster Hot Rods (my older brother used to build models of them), and, of course, sunny southern California and all the pretty girls on the beach.
I thought it was time to start digging up my old surf Instro reviews, breathing new life into them, posting them, seeking new sounds to write about, and posting people's artwork they would like to share.
So here I go without a surfboard back in the waters and waves to give it another go!
I hope to hear from all of you who want to post their reviews and artwork to make this site special and dedicated to music and art!
Hang Ten!
